River rescue volunteers recover body from boyne

The body of a missing Dunderry man has been found by river rescue and recovery services this afternoon.

It is understood Meath River Rescue recovered the remains of 58-year-old father of three Sean Cleary from Meadstown, Dunderry, from the Boyne in the Bective area early this afternoon.

Mr Cleary had been missing since Saturday 4th April when a major search operation was launched from Trim. Mr Cleary was a trustee of Meath River Rescue and had been involved with the organisation for the past seven years.

On its Facebook page, Meath River Rescue paid tribute to all the volunteers and members of the emergency services who took part in the search over the past fortnight.

'Please remember him in your prayers and he is now on his journey back to his family. May he rest in peace,' wrote Meath River Rescue's chairperson, Christopher Rennicks.
