Trim meeting on entente florale

Trim Tidy Towns and Meath County Council are hoping the people of Trim will help the efforts to win gold in the Entente Florale competition 2015, and attend a public meeting being held this evening, Wednesday 8th April in Trim Castle Hotel at 8pm.

Trim town has been nominated as one of only two Irish entries in the esteemed European Entente Florale Competition. Entente Florale or International Floral Decoration Competition as it was originally known has 11 countries competing in this year’s competition. The Department of the Environment Community & Local Government nominated Trim town due to its achievements in the National Tidy Towns Competition.

The aim of the Entente Florale competition is to promote the greening of towns and villages; flowers, shrubs, green spaces and parks; development which is environmentally and ecologically sensitive; and education and communication initiatives which promote environmental awareness.

The meeting will discuss the upcoming competition, the works that will be taking place in the town, and how people can become involved.

All are welcome to attend. See www.entente-florale.eu or www.trimtown.ie
