Update gardai investigate discovery of body near dunshaughlin

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body outside Dunshaughlin.

The remains of a non-national have been removed for a post mortem after being discovered at a premises at Lagore, between Dunshaughlin and Ratoath.

Forensic detectives are examining the scene of the incident, which is sealed off.

 

UPDATE from Garda Press Office, issued 6.31pm Thursday:

Discovery of body, Ratoath, Co Meath, 10th December 2014.

On the morning of Wednesday 10th December 2014 at 11.45am Gardaí were alerted to the discovery of a body at a house in Mooretown, Ratoath, Co Meath.

At the scene Gardaí discovered the body of a man his 30s. The body was lying at the gable end of the house and had head injuries. The body was removed from the scene to the morgue in Navan General Hospital and a forensic tecnical examination was carried out in the area. The office of the State Pathogolist was notified.

A post mortem examination was carried out today 11th December and the results of further forensic tests are awaited.

The Garda Technical Bureau are carrying out forensic examination at the house and are expected to remain at the scene until tomorrow afternoon.
