Sweeneys centra ratoath gets meath walking for breast cancer

Sweeney's Centra and the Ratoath community raised over €1,000 for the Irish Cancer Society's Action Breast Cancer campaign on Sunday during Centra's 'Let's Walk' event.

The Pink Walk saw women, men and children from the community put on their runners and pound the pavements.

Taking off from Sweeney's Centra in Ratoath at 2pm, the group of over 50 walkers lit up the 5km route with their neon pink attire.

Six other Centra stores throughout Co Meath will host pink walks in their community this month.

Speaking after the walk, retailer Paul Sweeney said: 'We are absolutely delighted with the turnout at our pink walk today and all those who so generously donated to this initiative.'

He added: 'It is fantastic to see the community rally together for such an important cause and we are extremely grateful to all our customers who walked with us to raise awareness for this charity.'
