Online auction offers dinner options with Corrigan or Mary Lou!

Anne Gibney, along with three of her neighbours has lost her home in a recent fire in Claremont Estate Navan. Unfortunately Ann was the only one out of the affected houses with no insurance.

A longtime community activist and one time town councillor, Anne has worked hard for the people of Navan over the years. It's now Navan's chance to help Anne at this devastating time.

The Anne Gibney Rebuilding Appeal has launched a unique online auction. This culinary based initiative sees one of Ireland's top celebrity chefs, Richard Corrigan, offering a meal for ten in his newly purchased Virginia Park Hotel in Cavan with wine to the top winning bid. Richard himself will be cooking the meal - offering a very special opportunity for interested foodies.

For bidders who prefer a more intimate affair, Political trail blazer Mary Lou McDonald TD has offered her services as personal chef in the bidder's own home. Mary Lou will be cooking a three-course meal, plus wine, for ten people and will be assisted on the night by a surprise celebrity server.

Said Mary Lou McDonald: 'I'm really looking forward to this challenge. I always enjoy cooking for friends so i think I'm going to enjoy this opportunity. That said, I am nervous, but it's a fantastic chance to do my bit to help out Anne at this time. Bring it on!'

Local support comes from the Central Bar and Restaurant. Navan's leading bar and restaurant is offering a three-course meal with wine and entertainment for 10 people in Lot 3 of the auction.

The online auction will go live on the Central's website, www.thecentral.ie/Ann-Gibney/ and will remain open to bids until midnight on 31st August.
