VEC prepared to run Kells primary school

Meath VEC has expressed an interest in running a community national school in Kells, in light of the current survey of parents in the area to establish the demand for diversity of school patronage. Kells parents of children up to 12 years have been asked by the Department of Education to take part in a survey on school patronage. County Meath VEC is one of the possible patron bodies listed by the department along with An Foras Pátrúnachta and Educate Together. County Meath VEC already runs a primary school in Navan, Ard Rí Community National School which started in 2010. The VEC has indicated that it can establish a community national school teaching through the medium of English or Irish depending on demand. The closing date for the survey is 8th February.
