Trim theatre project revival

A meeting is being held in Brogan's Hotel, Trim, on Thursday night, 4th March, with the aim of reviving the Cluain an Duchais theatre project. Cluain an Duchais is a group that was formed after the coming together of a number of cultural groups in the the town and area, such as the musical and drama groups, Comhaltas, Scurlogstown Olympiad , and the local dance schools and writers' circle, with the aim of developing a badly needed theatre for the town. A sum in the region of €100,000 was collected but difficulties arose over a site and the plan never proceeded. Now that the council has acquired the former St Patrick's School in the old church building on High Street, the group is meeting to look at possible future options. The meeting is at 8pm.
