Ratoath dad's 'McFuji' photo selected

RATOATH dad John O'Connor has been selected as a finalist in the McDonalds/Fujipix.ie Family Moment's competition.

Families across the country were invited to capture and upload special family moments for a chance to win a family holiday worth €5,000. Mr O' Connor's entry has been narrowed down as one of the top contenders.

Finalists were selected from over 1,000 entries and the winning pictures can be viewed by logging onto www.mcdonalds.ie

Mr O' Connor's entry shows a moment of fun on a holiday in Florida last year. He explained the setting of the photo and why it always brings a smile to his face: "My winning photo shows the four children, Laura and Sam Burke with Kaitlin and Ryan O' Connor jumping into the pool on holiday in Florida last year. It turned out to be a great day, Kaitlin (5) discarded her arm bands for the first time ever to dive into the pool and has never looked back since."

Claire Lynch of McDonald's Ireland said: "There was a great response to our Family Moments competition and it proved to be a tough job narrowing the entries down to six. However, those that stood out were the genuine moments that so many of us experience in childhood but rarely capture.

"We wish all the finalists the best of luck in the next stage of the competition. All six finalists are to receive a FUJIFILM FinePix Z10fd cameras for getting this far. The competition was launched in association with our new advertising campaign which highlights the ever changing and precious time that families share and how McDonald's is a constant part of family relationships
