The Book Thief is favourite at Eason book club

To celebrate the Book Club’s first birthday, Eason asked readers to vote for their all-time Book Club favourite from the selection of 50 classic books. The winner has been revealed as; ‘The Book Thief’ by Markus Zusak.

‘The Book Thief’ is based in Nazi Germany in 1939 and is a story of Liesel, a nine-year-old girl living with a foster family on Himmel Street after her parents are taken away to a concentration camp. The winning book, originally published in the UK and Ireland in 2007 has since become a modern classic, published around the world and turned into a film.
