Launch of Le Cheile this weekend

The Le Cheile Arts & Music Festival launch night will take place in the shadows of the Loughcrew Mountains on Saturday 9th July, to announce this year’s festivities, and all are welcome to what promises to be a great night of entertainment. Loughcrew Megalithic Centre will host the 19th Le Cheile Festival launch party featuring live music, BBQ and the best views around.
Having just confirmed the latest line ups and new additions to nostalgic venues, the festival will begin planning shortly to put in place one of its largest weekends to date. Already confirmed at Le Cheile 2016 are The Strypes, The Academic, Big Generator, Robert Mizzell, Travis Oaks, Aine Cahill, and Noel Briody. With a host of art exhibitions, theatre, family day, an epic day of Grand Prix cycle racing around the locality as well as music all weekend, there will be something for all.
The launch party starts at 8pm, with free admission for all, with a BBQ and music from Blackbird and Crow. They are a two-piece act from Donegal, and are a foot stomping, dynamic, blues outfit. In true festival music style, the band was booked after Le Cheile chairman, Noel Finnegan, liked what he heard of them at the recent Rory Gallagher Festival. All are invited to enjoy the sunset in the Loughcrew hills while listening to some honest and raw edge music this weekend. All details available at www.lecheile.com
