Jerry fishs guests and other electric picnic news

The Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow returns to the Electric Picnic Late Night Arena, escorted by the Picnic’s hippest after hour club, Ryan Skelton’s 'Together DISCO'. Expect Tom Waits-like levels of carnival freakery from the legendary Mr Fish and his dandy concoction of sideshow theatre and intimate off beat musical performances along with very special guests indeed.

Cork based punk rock band, Sultans of Ping will be sure to bring the party in Jerry Fish’s Electric Sideshow this September. Another fantastic Irish act whose latest album went straight in at the top of the charts, Fight Like Apes will be gracing the Electric Sideshow’s stage with their fiery performance – fashionistas, watch out for what always promises to be an eye-catching outfit on lead singer MayKay.

Rebels are on top in the Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow for 2015 with two fellow Cork acts joining the bill; after over 20 years performing together, The Frank and Walters will be sure to get the crowd going and similarly for the much loved singer-songwriter Mick Flannery.

Multi-instrumentalist R.S.A.G A.k.a Rarely Seen Above Ground is set to get Picnickers dancing as he returns to Electric Picnic this September. While Limerick ladies, Maud In Cahoots will blow audiences away with their unforgettable tones.

Cultivated during his somewhat sordid lifetime in showbiz. This wild tent and show features everything from circus performers to one of the most lively and engaging artists in Ireland right now. A ringmaster of exceptional renown, Fish has evolved into a showman extraordinaire, not to be missed.

'The Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow' promises once again to be the highlight of this year’s Picnic, delivering three debauched days and nights of mind blowing, soul bending entertainment.

Picninc goes green!

This year’s three-day extravaganza promises to be the greenest concert event ever staged here.  That’s thanks to a series of unprecedented environmentally friendly measures arising out of the partnership between festival organisers, Friends of the Earth, traders and the Picnickers!

Friends of the Earth will be dispatching their own ‘Green Messengers’ to help Picnickers maintain the beautiful green fields of Stradbally Hall, we are introducing a cup deposit system, 20 cent paid for each cup will be refundable after you have used it. In fact you could earn your ticket for next year – collect 1100 cups and earn your ticket for EP2016!

Our Ecocampsite Be Your Environment is a place for clean, tranquil camping and its popularity is such we doubled its size for 2015! Every can counts at Electric Picnic and if you bring your empties to Every Can Counts you have a chance to win prizes and of course keep Stradbally lawns spotlessly clean! If you see yourself as a creative type you should mosey along to our Greencrafts Village – everything there is hand or solar powered and you could end up going home with something you have crafted yourself from felted scarves to iron pokers, all made with forgotten and traditional methods.

Of course all Picnickers have to try some of the delightful food on offer over the course of the weekend in Stradbally Hall! Electric Picnic prides itself on being a Fair Trade festival and all our food traders will be using bio degradable food packaging.

With entertainment for all ages and all interests on offer in Stradbally Hall this September for Electric Picnic 2015, we’ve put our thinking caps on and to make the enthralling festival site a more pleasurable place for all.

Green Messengers

A three bin system will be in place throughout the arena, allowing the principled punter to separate their waste into the categories of general, recyclable and compostable.

This year the Electric Picnic festival teams up with Friends of the Earth who will bring their “Green Messengers” to the rolling green fields of Stradbally Hall.

Friends of the Earth promote education and action for environmental sustainability. At Electric Picnic festival the Friends of the Earth Green Messengers will live this ethos. In their dual role of education and action Green Messengers will encourage and educate the interested festival goer, while simultaneously acting as gatekeeper and protector of their own selection of bins!, monitoring for contamination and righting any bin-wrongs and thereby preserving the good work of the ethical Picnicker that has gone before.
