Me and My Girl coming to town

"The happiest show in town" is coming to Navan, when St Mary's Musical Society presents 'Me & My Girl' with dirtector Ray O'Hare, Jacqui McGowan (musical director) and Jane Wardick as choreographer. Bill Snibson (Kevin Fagan), a Lambeth rag and bone man, is revealed to be the new Earl of Hareford and his newly-discovered aristocratic relations are horrified. Bringing him to Hareford hall, Maria, Duchess of Dene (Mairéad Murray) and Sir John Tremayne (Bill Slattery) attempt to educate Bill into the ways of the gentry, and to separate him from his cockney girlfriend, Sally (Danielle Williamson). Added to the comic chaos that ensues, Bill fights off the advances of Lady Jacqueline Carstone (Emma Stowe) who has just dumped her betroth, The Hon Gerald Bolingbroke (Colin Flynn) in pursuit of the Hareford fortune. 'Me and My Girl' is pure musical comedy escapism with rousing songs including, 'The Sun Had Got His Hat On', 'The Lambeth Walk' and the beautiful 'Love Makes The World Go Round' and of course, 'Me And My Girl'. St Mary's Musical Society's production will be supported by a full orchestra of professional musicians and a purpose built set from the UK. Me and My Girl will be staged in the Solstice Arts Centre from Monday 4th March (schools night special, €12 per ticket) to Saturday 9th March, tickets priced at just €18 and discounts available for groups, are available by contacting Solstice Box Office on (046) 909 2300 or www.solsticeartscentre.ie. A launch party takes place in The Central, Trimgate Street on Saturday 23rd February.
