Carnaross into semis again

Ollie Murphy's 40th minute save was a critical factor in the outcome of this absorbing JFC quarter-final at Athboy     today as Carnaroos advanced to the last four with a hard-earned 1-18 to 1-16 victory over Dunsany.

Goalkeeper Murphy produced a spectacular finger-tip save that denied Pierre Fox a 40th minute goal, but not to be outdone, Cian O'Neill saved well from Frank O'Reilly a minute later at the other end.

However, Dunsany also missed a second goal chance when Declan Smyth fired the wrong side of the post with eight minutes remaining.

Dunsany then almost capitalised when Murphy fumbled the ball on his 20-metre line, but he managed to hold possession after the referee award a free for handling on the ground.

The ball was moved forward, but by then Carnaross had re-grouped and the resultant free produced a 10th point for Pierre Fox who later added a goal to his tally in added time, but on this occasion the clock ran out on Dunsany's campaign.
