Cool few days coming up but dry overall

Weather conditions will be settled over the coming days, mostly dry and quite cool overall with some frosty nights.

Cold early this morning with outbreaks of rain in the northeast continuing to clear away it will become breezy with sunny spell and scattered blustery showers developing. Some of the showers will be heavy, with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible in the west, while wintry falls can't be ruled out over higher ground. Highest afternoon temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees, but feeling colder due to moderate to fresh northwesterly winds.

Showers will die out early tonight, leaving mostly dry and clear conditions. Cold with frost and possibly icy patches developing as temperatures drop to between -1 and +3 degrees as moderate to fresh northwest winds ease light and variable, even falling calm locally towards morning. Cloud will increase in the northwest towards morning though, with a few patches of light rain or drizzle developing.

Thursday will be mostly dry with sunny spells although they may turn hazy at times. A few light showers will affect the north and northwest at times. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in light to moderate north to northwest winds.

Clear spells in the south and east early on Thursday night but cloud will increase from the northwest with some localised outbreaks of light rain and drizzle at times. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, coldest in the southeast but temperatures will rise towards morning, in light northwesterly or variable winds.

A mix of cloud and hazy bright or sunny spells on Friday. It will be a mostly dry day, with just isolated patches of light rain mostly near northern and western coasts. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in light to moderate northerly winds.

Dry with good clear spells early in the night on Friday, cloud will increase towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, some mist and fog will develop also in light northerly breezes.

Any mist and fog will clear through the morning Saturday leaving a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Highs will range from 7 to 10 degrees, coolest in the east, in light northeast to east winds.

Cold and dry on Saturday night with a mix of cloud and clear spells, the best of which will be in the north and west, where it will be coldest, lows will range from 0 to 4 degrees, but remaining a little milder along eastern coasts in light easterly winds.

Further Outlook: Currently it looks to remaining cool and mostly dry early next week, with some sunny spells and just the chance of a few isolated showers mostly in the east, while some frosty nights can be expected.
