Golden times to be recalled in 40th anniversary reunion

Were you involved in any way with Corbawn Utd, Spartan FC and Riverback FC soccer teams back in the day? Did you play for them, manage any of the teams or were associated with them in anyway?

On Saturday 4th June a 40th anniversary reunion will be held and the players, managers, friends and families of people involved with all these three teams are invited to attend.

The event will be held in the Bawn Inn and it was on the pitches beside that famous hostelery that the teams played their home games.

The teams played in the local league which started out as the Mid-Meath League and later became the Meath & District League. Those who were involved with them in any way are invited to attend the reunion and share stories about their days in the various club colours.

Corbawn and Riverbank were eventually to amalgamate into C & R before joining forces with a team in Athboy to eventually become Athboy United and are known today as Athboy Celtic.

If anyone has any photos or memorabilia from the glory days of Corbawn, Spartans or Riverbank they are requested to bring them along on the night or drop them into The Bawn any evening before the 4th June.
