Hackett fires Meath to impressive victory

Meath made the long journey to the sunny south-east this morning and emerged with an impressive 0-16 to 0-8 victory over hosts Wexford in their Leinster Intermediate Camogie Championship opener at Enniscorthy.

Meath had controlled the opening half and with Sinead Hackett in fine form they raced into an early advantage. However, Wexford finished the half with five points on the trot and trailed by just 0-6 to 0-8 at the break.

After the resumption Meath redoubled their efforts and managed to double their tally with Hackett continuing her rich vein of form, while Aoife Minogue, Amy Gaffney, Aedin Slattery, Kristina troy and Aoife Maguire were also on target in the victory.

All Wexford could manage were a further two points as Meath coasted to victory.
