Bohermeen AC road race set for Sunday

Bohermeen Athletic Club will host the 35th Patrick Bell Memorial road race (men) and and the Nicky Phillips Memorial race (women) on Sunday.

This year’s race will start at 10am on Sunday morning on the Newline near the Bohermeen Community Centre.

The competitors will run over a new distance of five miles and all entries are online through www.myrunresults.com.

The last major running event in Meath was the Bohermeen half marathon in March 2020 and with a phased return to athletics this will be the first of many events back on the calendar.

The five-mile will run from the Newline via Ardbraccan, Well Road, past Bohermeen school and finish at Bohermeen athletic track.

"The club would like to thank our two main sponsors John Hogan of Hogan Kitchens and Joe Leahy of Leahy’s Mace at Newgate for their generous support of the event, also acknowledging the support of NGP LTD, Next Generation Plastics for their support of the event," stated club chairman Stephen Ball.

Also, a family 5k walk will start at 10am at Bohermeen school and both events are in aid of the Jack & Jill Foundation.
