Sean Tobin hangs up inter-county boots

Simonstown Gaels footballer Sean Tobin has called time on his Meath inter-county footbal career.

The 29-year-old played 77 times for the Royal Couty across all grades from minor to senior from 2008 to 2020.

Always popular with the supporters for his never-say-die attitude the Navan man made his senior debut for Meath in 2013 in the O'Byrne Cup against Louth.

He followed that up a few weeks later with a debut in the NFL against Monaghan at Clones.

Sean made his championship debut in June 2015 in the Leinster SFC against Wicklow at Pairc Tailteann.

He played for Meath in the NFL on 31 occasions with 17 Championship outings as well as three appearances for the minor team in the championships of 2008 and 2009 and a similar number at u-21 level in 2011 and 2012.

Like so many other Meath players over the last two decades, Sean also played for Meath at u-16 level in the Gerry Reilly Cup in Oldcastle.
