The Mac Gabhanns in Ashbourne would surely qualify!

Are you Ireland's traddest family?

The Ray D'Arcy Show is on the hunt for families who love playing traditional music together to compete for the title of 'Ireland's Traddest Family' live on RTÉ One.

If your family love playing traditional music then Ray D'Arcy and his team of experts want to hear from you. The panel of judges for this unique TV event are singer-songwriter John Spillane, fiddle player Zoe Conway and Mike Hanrahan of Stockton’s Wing.

D’Arcy said: “We’ve had a phenomenal response the length and breadth of the country - the talent out there is unbelievable. Applications are still open, so, if you and your family love playing traditional music together or you know a family that fits the bill – we’d love to hear from you.'

The closing date for the competition is February 24th and if successful, all participants must be available to travel to Dublin to perform live during The Ray D’Arcy Show on March 11th.

If you think your family has what it takes to be crowned ‘Ireland’s Traddest Family’ email: traddestfamily@rte.ie and send a videos and mp3s (not longer than 2 mins) of your family playing music together.

The lucky winners will hold the title of ‘Ireland’s Traddest Family’ and will also get a luxury family trip to FOTA resort, a chance to play at St Patrick's festival weekend and VIP tickets to the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
