Boyne Valley cycle ends Skoda series

ŠKODA Ireland’s three part cycling initiative, the “ŠKODA Celtic Series”, wrapped up with the ŠKODA Tour de Boyne Valley on Saturday 31st August in Drogheda. The ŠKODA Celtic Series attracted 7,200 cyclists to the Wild Atlantic Way on the Tour de Conamara and the Ring of Clare in May and July respectively and closed out the season with the Tour de Boyne Valley in September.

The ŠKODA Celtic Series is in its seventh successful year and has developed into Ireland's premier cycling leisure event attracting overseas participants from France, Germany, USA, UK, Spain, Italy and Australia.
Some 350 cyclists completed the ŠKODA Celtic Cycle Series Triple Crown Challenge by participating in all three events and were rewarded with a specially commissioned framed drawing, which captured elements from all three cycles.

Speaking after completing the Tour de Boyne Valley, ŠKODA Events and Sponsorship Manager, Ciara Breen said: “This year’s cycling series has been a huge success. Ireland is experiencing a cycling boom and the ŠKODA Celtic Series is growing year on year with certain events selling out inside 24 hours. We would like to give a big thank you to all involved for making each event possible.  We have already begun the planning for ŠKODA Celtic Series 2020 with places expected to go on sale on 1st January, 2020. For participants of this year's series, registration will begin in late December 2019".
