A photo of Lucy's wedding shoes

Bride left kicking her heels after wedding shoes vanish

A BRIDE who changed out of her wedding shoes while having photos taken at Trim Castle on Saturday was horrified to find they were taken while they were doing their photos.

Lucy Withers and Robert Murphy, who live in Duleek, were married in Tullyallen Church on Saturday and had their reception in Trim Castle Hotel.
Lucy told how she changed into flat shoes for the photos and put her shoes into a Penneys bag along with a bridesmaid’s sandals and they left them behind the wall at the bus stop at the town hall, while taking their photos.
They forgot to take the bag with them when they went on to do more photos and went back within ten minutes but they were gone.
“It was about 3.30pm or 3.45pm. We were having photos taken at the castle. I stopped at the bus stop on front of the public toilets to change my shoes into something more comfortable. We put them both in a Penneys bag and put the bag behind the wall behind the bus stop. We forgot to take it with us when we were going on to take other photos. It was only about 10 minutes until we realised and they were gone when the groomsmen went back to get them.”
The groomsmen went into the local shops to see if they had been handed in but to no avail.

“I was really disappointed. They were so lovely. My mum had bought them for me and they were quite expensive. I wanted to keep them as a memento.”
However, Lucy said they weren’t stuck and just wore other shoes for the dancing and she didn’t let it affect her enjoyment of the rest of the day.
“I forgot about it, these things happen,” she said.
However, she would like to get them back, so if anyone took them or picked up the bag and handed it in somewhere, please get in touch. Her cousin also shared a post on the Trim Discussion page appealing for information.
Lucy’s shoes were Jenny Packham ivory satin with beading and her bridesmaid sandals were tan and also had beading.
