'Strong message' needs to be sent in relation to issue of Illegal dumping
Issues around illegal dumping the bottle banks in Enfield particularly around Christmas were highlighted by Cllr Padraig Coffey at the January meeting of Trim Municipal District Councillors.
He said a security light was broken which didn't help and that at this time of year when its dark and there is less policing it is hard but said it should not be up to Meath County Council to clean it up.
He questioned were many convictions secured by Meath County Council for illegal dumping and was told that figures would be got before their next meeting.
Cllr Joe Fox complimented the litter warden for dealing with a number of issues in the Trim MD area over the past few weeks and said two particular incidents were going to lead to prosecutions, adding that it is important to send a strong message out.
