Stole alcohol from store

Alexandru Moraro of Commons Road, Navan admitted stealing alcohol, including champagne from a local supermarket.

The 24 year old received a four month suspended prison sentence after he paid compensation of €320, the full value of the property, which was not recovered.

Trim District Court was told on Thursday that the defendant had 25 previous convictions including ten for thefts.

He had €200 with him in court and was given time to come up with the balance which he did. Judge McKiernan suspended the sentence for 12 months.
