“This funding will make a real difference in people’s lives, helping to improve local facilities, create safer and more accessible spaces, and bring communities closer together.

“It helps us create strong, resilient, and vibrant communities where families can thrive, young people can grow and stay close to home, and local clubs and schools can continue to flourish.

“Initiatives like this demonstrate the real impact that can be achieved when communities, local representatives, and government work together to deliver positive, lasting change.”

Deputy Dempsey concluded by saying: “I want to sincerely thank Minister Calleary for his work in making this funding possible and for his collaboration with my colleagues and I to bring these projects across the line.”

Cllr Sarah Reilly, described it as “a fantastic boost for our local organisations and facilities.”

She said: “This is fantastic news for North Meath. I want to congratulate each of the successful applicants and thank them for their ongoing work to ensure North Meath continues to thrive. We are blessed in North Meath to have so many proactive community groups who go above and beyond to ensure we have top-notch facilities. Ensuring that North Meath continues to be a place we are proud to call home.”

Carnaross GFC also welcomed the news. Chairman Ian Donoghue said: “Carnaross GFC is delighted to be awarded this grant funding. The Clar scheme has been transformational for our club grounds. This funding will allow the club to continue to develop our facilities for the benefit of the whole community."

The CLÁR Programme provides targeted funding for rural areas that have experienced significant levels of population decline, supporting community initiatives that enhance local facilities, safety, and quality of life.
