Body of man in his seventies recovered from River Boyne

Emergency services have recovered the body of a man in his seventies from the River Boyne in Trim.

The alarm was raised at around 10am this morning that a person had entered the river. Emergency services responded and the body of a man in his seventies was recovered shortly afterwards by members of Trim Fire Service.

Gardai have appealed for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact Trim Garda Station on (046) 948 6140 or the Garda Confidential 1800 666 111.
