Meath Comhairle na nÓg hosts annual youth conference
Meath Comhairle na nÓg hosted their annual youth conference in the Ardboyne Hotel with over 120 young people in attendance. Representing secondary schools and youth groups from all across County Meath these young people gathered to have their voices heard on issues of school stress and mental health. They were joined on the day by Members of Meath County Council, Tomas Olver from the Ombudsman for Children's Office, members of An Garda Siochana and staff from agencies who work with young people.
The Annual Youth Conference is a culmination of a year's work for the 37 Members ranging from 12 to 17 years and celebrates the fact that young people have a voice in decision making. These members worked with staff from the planning department of Meath County Council discussing traffic management, worked with government departments to organise national events and this years Senad na nÓg and they have worked with Jigsaw Meath on their Anti stigma campaign #whatsyourword.
Meath Comhairle na nÓg is funded through the Department of Children, Disability and Equality, and supported by Meath County Council and Youth Work Ireland Meath.
