Intimate night of music with Brian Byrne and guests

Performance of new album 'She Must Go'

Golden Globe–nominated Navan native composer Brian Byrne returns to his hometown on Sunday to present an unforgettable evening of music with 'She Must Go', a live performance of the acclaimed new album by the US-based conductor.

The concert takes place Sunday 23rd November at 8pm, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience this genre-defying work in an intimate setting.

Byrne describes She Must Go, as a “sweeping jazz song cycle” with a “perfectly timed payoff” that bridges centuries of poetry with the immediacy of contemporary orchestration.

Commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and released globally via Timberlake Records /Big Shoulders Records/ Sony Orchard, the album has been hailed as “a bold testament to love, memory, and artistic fearlessness”.

Joining Byrne on stage will be vocalist Lucia Evans, William Byrne, and a stellar band of Irish and international musicians.

Together, they will bring fresh interpretations and heartfelt performances of the album’s 12 tracks, including settings of poetry by Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman, and Robert Frost.

Dedicated to Byrne’s late sister-in-law Christine, with album artwork by her daughter, Caelainn Byrne, She Must Go is both an act of remembrance and a call to resilience.

The album has resonated deeply with listeners worldwide, with fans on social media calling it “achingly human,” “a sonic masterpiece,” and “the most moving thing I’ve heard all year.” Track highlights include 'Do Not Go Gentle', a stirring setting of Dylan Thomas’s iconic poem, 'The Road Not Taken', a jazz-inflected take on Robert Frost’s classic; and 'O Captain! My Captain!', a bold, brassy tribute to Whitman’s elegy.
