Josh Harford will be hoping to maintain his fine form for Kilbride.

Kilbride hoping to pull of great heist against Sallins

LEINSTER CLUB IFC PREVIEW

What a journey it has been for the small village of Kilbride in 2025 and they will go again next Saturday when they take on Kildare champions Sallins in the Leinster IFC quarter-final at Pairc Tailteann, 1.30pm.

Kilbride certainly can take plenty of positives from their opening round victory over Longford's Ardagh Moydow.

The two Kilbride men who Robbie Brennan talked about this week as possible Meath panelists were Josh Harford and Conor McWeeney and that pair in particular were outstanding against the Longford side.

Harford hit some sublime two-point efforts while McWeeney contributed 2-2 to the scoreboard. As expected after the celebrations of winning the Meath title, they took some time to get going, but once they did they were vastly superior.

However, their opposition next Saturday will be a different kettle of fish.

Sallins have been a dominant force this year. They won every Kildare IFC championship game by at least 10 points and they made light work of Carlow champions Grange in the opening round. Stephen Kelly hit 3-1 as they stormed to a 29-point win. The writing was on the wall at the interval when they led 4-11 to 0-1.

No one at this level has had any answers for Sallins this year. It is going to be a massive task for Kilbride to get the better of this Kildare outfit.

Home advantage helps and the buzz and support that Kilbride get from the community will ensure that they will go out fighting if nothing else. However, it is hard to see their incredible journey this year lasting past Saturday though.
