Two long-range goals, either side of the break, proved crucial to Bohermeen NS as they got the better of Scoil Oilibheir Naofa, Kilcloon by 3-4 to 2-1 in the Girls Div 2 final at Ashbourne on Sunday.

Bohermeen's defence was very strong. At the heart of their back line was centre-back Aoibhinn Fallon, and she had an outstanding game. Behind her, Faye Coyne did very well at full-back in her tough battle with Scoil Oilibheir Naofa’s Addison Brereton. Aoibheann Ball was also very good for the eventual winners in the middle of the park. Bohermeen got off to a flying start with points from Isobel English and Fallon. Brereton started to cause a lot of issues for the Bohermeen defence. She pointed from a free before she was first to react to a Francis Anna Ferris shot, which hit the crossbar and the full-forward finished well to the net.

Down the other end, Kate Rennicks scored a very similar goal when she reacted first to Ella Travers' shot which came back off the post. A superb long-range effort from Katie Kenny sent Bohermeen NS in at the break with a 2-2 to 1-1 advantage.

Bohermeen hit the ground running in the second-half and rattled off 1-2 early on. Another superb long-range goal from Fallon was followed by points from Travers and Kenny. Scoil Oilibheir Naofa battled hard but all they could muster was a late goal courtesy of Brereton.
