Here is a legend who has had a chart entry in every decade since 1964. Number one in the Irish Charts in August 1964 with 'Foolin' Time' for Butch Moore, to number one in the Irish Charts in August 2025 with 'For Another King And Country'.
‘For Another King And Country’ is written with Ryan Hennessey and Jimmy Rainsford from the band Picture This, and is performed by Roy Buckley. The song is based on the true story of the six Collins Brothers from Waterford who joined the British army to fight in World War One. Five of them died and the sixth Collins Brother was sent home to console their grieving mother. There have been many documentaries on this true story, often described as the Irish version of ‘Saving Private Ryan’.
Phil Coulter, composer of hits for some of the biggest stars, Luke Kelly, Cliff Richard, Sandie Shaw and Elvis Presley, to his 'Ireland's Call', rugby anthem and so many more hits, has been a towering presence on the world music stage for over 60 years and remains one of Ireland’s best-loved and iconic music figures, performing in Navan next week.
