The Bank of Ireland on Market Square after the works were carried out with the position of the entrance doors and the ATM switched.

Switching is easy... Bank transfer completed in Navan

Works to improve accessibility at the Bank of Ireland on Navan's Market Square have recently been completed meaning wheelchair users and parents with buggies will no longer have to try negotiate a set of steps to get into the bank.

The position of the main door has now moved to where the ATM machine had been located and the ATM has moved to the area where the doors previously were. The set of steps that were at the old main door have been removed, along with the step that was at the ATM machine, leaving both at footpath level.

The internal finished floor level has been lowered at the entrance to make it accessible and there is a new ramp inside for wheelchair users taking them to the main lobby level. A new ATM room has been constructed inside to facilitate the filling of the ATM in its new location.

Bank of Ireland worked closely with Meath County Council's Conservation Officer during the planning stages for the works to the listed building, which dates back to 1880. Located at 11 Market Square, the building is a terraced four-bay two-storey bank with ashlar limestone façade with double tier pilasters and parapet with ball finials. A flat roofed extension was added to the rear circa 1985.
