Glenveagh welcomes local residents for first dedicated Careers in Construction Day

Kildare and Meath residents attended first local recruitment event by one of Ireland’s leading homebuilders

Earlier in October, local residents in Maynooth and surrounding areas attended Glenveagh’s first dedicated Careers in Construction Day. Held in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth, the event was a prime opportunity for locals to explore new career paths and discover more about working with one of Ireland’s leading homebuilders.

Located beside the historic town of Maynooth, Glenveagh is making an active and significant contribution to Ireland’s housing supply. Since 2017, the business has delivered over 7,500 homes across 50 sites, including almost 2,500 homes last year alone.

Glenveagh is confident about the ongoing contribution it can make to providing more homes for people, and to do this, the business is actively looking for people to join its team. Attendees at the Careers in Construction Day benefitted from connecting with representatives across several divisions of the company and had the opportunity to discuss open roles in construction management, civil engineering and project management to customer experience and head office support roles, amongst others.

They also heard inspiring addresses from leading Glenveagh figures about their own career journey in the business, including Tony McLoughlin, Chief Operating Officer, and Sinéad Tolan, Head of Human Resources. Among those in attendance were local councillors including Fianna Fáil councillors David Trost and Donna Phelan, Labour councillor Angela Feeney, and Social Democrats councillor Nuala Killeen.

Attendees on the day learned about the application process for roles at Glenveagh and gained invaluable insights about career growth opportunities and well as Glenveagh’s commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.

Glenveagh is committed to supporting local communities by playing an active role in local life and creating employment opportunities where people live. As a people first employer, the company is dedicated to developing teams that build thriving and connected communities.

With opportunities across the board for experienced professionals in construction or infrastructure, those passionate about customer experience, or recent graduates exploring roles in civil engineering and construction management, Glenveagh offers a clear pathway to long-term career growth.

Benefits of working with Glenveagh go beyond simply contributing to Ireland’s housing supply and fostering communities. The business offers hands-on training, ongoing mentorship with colleagues, and the chance to work with industry experts who cement the businesses commitment to investing in developing its employees’ potential from day one.

As more than just a homebuilder, Glenveagh is centred on building careers. In 2025, the business was named one of Ireland’s Best Large Workplaces. It is also the first construction company in Ireland to receive the Gold Accreditation for Diversity from the Irish Centre for Diversity.

Local residents that attended the Careers in Construction Day discovered more about why these awards have been given to Glenveagh and gained insights into the company’s evolving range of policies to enhance equity and inclusion. Glenveagh currently employs people from 23 different nationalities, and it is proud that 34 per cent of its near 475-strong workforce are female which is significantly higher than the industry average of 11 per cent.

As Glenveagh continues to recruit, interested candidates are reminded that they can expect more than just a job. The company offers an attractive and competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare and pension, and a supportive team environment where each individual’s contribution is valued. Most importantly, candidates will be working in a company driven by its core values: Safety First, Collaborative, Innovative, Customer-Centred and Can-Do.

Glenveagh is dedicated to nurturing talent across a range of backgrounds and experiences and is committed to helping its employees grow and build a rewarding career.
