Meath’s Children’s Book Festival starts tomorrow

A Right Royal Read 2025 - the Meath’s Children’s Book Festival kicks off tomorrow, 1st October.

The festival is organised by Meath County Council’s Library Service and Cathaoirleach, Wayne Harding, officially launched this year’s festival in Slane Library with the help of children from St Patrick’s National School.

All primary schools in County Meath are invited to participate in the in-person and online events, which run from Wednesday, 1st October for three weeks.

According to Eileen McDermott, Right to Read Coordinator with Meath Libraries, “whether it’s hearing an author tell a story, taking part in a comic book workshop, making your own books and stories in school, or getting involved in our competitions, the Children’s Book Festival is an opportunity to get all of us thinking, talking, and reading books.”

Schools have been booking into the events throughout September. Thos interested can check out the brochure at Children's Book Festival | Meath.ie to see all that Meath Libraries has to offer this October. Participants are asked to share your Children’s Book Festival events with us in Meath Libraries by tagging them on your social media.
