A sunny Sunday for the Dunshaughlin Heritage Walk
The Dunshaughlin Heritage Walk took place earlier today, going through the history of each major site in the town and how they all came to be.
Locals and those looking to discover Dunshaughlin’s history took an hour long trip exploring the past and how each important part of the town came to be.
The tour included the town’s courthouse which was initially built sometime between 1799-1801 and its garda station, a look through the history of its library that was previously a church built in the 1780s, and a mention of James Fox’s memorial, one of the youngest combatants to die during the 1916 Easter Rising.
Other sites mentioned include, the Arch Bar, the Church of Saints Patrick and Seachnall, and the Toll House as the tour went all the way down the town's main road and back.
Heritage Week is still ongoing in Meath with other events taking place that can be seen here.
