Emerging golfers to star at Killeen Castle Tour Irish Challenge event

Killeen Castle in Dunsany will play host to the HotelPlanner Tour Irish Challenge from 7th to 10th August next, when 156 of the world’s top emerging golfers compete over four days in a 72-hole Strokeplay format. After 36 holes, the top 60 professionals will proceed to the final two rounds, battling for their share of the €300,000 prize fund, including a €48,000 first prize.

The HotelPlanner Tour is the official development circuit of the DP World Tour and has given golf stars their time to shine. Notable past participants include Justin Rose and Masters-winner, Rory McIlroy. This tournament is a must-see for any Irish golf fans, where the next generation of young golfers will be inspired.

Over the course of four days in August, visitors can head to the Fan Village where there will be a range of food trucks, a Kids' Zone, entertainment for all the family and perhaps a chance to meet your favourite golfers.

Since reopening in 2008 as a luxury golf resort, Killeen Castle has hosted several major events, including Ladies Irish Opens and the 2011 Solheim Cup, and continues to enhance its facilities through ongoing investment and course upgrades, ensuring optimal conditions for both members and international competitors. Developed under the expertise of 18-time major championship winner, Jack Nicklaus, he described the all-weather course as “one of my favourite designs”.
