Lilymae O'Reilly hit 3-3 as the Trim school hit six goals on their way to glory

Scoil Mhuire Trim were crowned Leinster u-14 C PPS champions after a fantastic victory over Moyne CS at the Downs GAA.

Scoil Mhuire enjoyed much of the early possession and the advantage of the wind, but they appeared nervous from the outset. They struggled to convert chances, while Moyne C.S. capitalised on their opportunities.

Lilymae Reilly kept Scoil Mhuire ticking over and her first-half tally of 1-2 kept the Trim side within touching distance but Moyne still led at the break 2-8 to 1-5.

Scoil Mhuire returned to the pitch at the restart transformed. Their defence tightened significantly, while the forwards began to find their rhythm. Substitutes Ellen O’Reilly and Lucia Kelliher made an immediate impact up front, injecting pace and precision into the attack. While Aoife O’Shea and Anna Cole worked tirelessly in midfield.

An early goal by Lucia Kelliher ignited the comeback and set the tone for an explosive second-half. Kelliher added a second, while Lilymae O’Reilly netted two brilliant goals which boosted Scoil Mhuire further.

Saoirse Hyland made an immediate impact off the bench, and she contributed a crucial goal. Although Moyne continued to rack up points, it was Scoil Mhuire’s clinical goal-scoring that ultimately proved decisive.

In the dying moments, with Scoil Mhuire leading by three and Moyne pressed hard. Full-back Shona McCaffery produced a heroic block to deny a certain goal. Her clearance was followed by the referee's final whistle which confirmed Scoil Mhuire Trim as the champions.
