Search is on for Ireland’s Most Loved Lollipop Person
Every morning and afternoon, rain or shine, Ireland’s lollipop men and women stand on duty, ensuring our children cross the road safely. Now, a Dundalk based company that specialises in making losenges that helps kids with travel sickness, ear popping and makes journeys smoother for families, wants to recognise these local heroes. Tonstix Travel Pops founded by entrepreneurs Sinead Crowther and Denise Lauaki, has launched a nationwide campaign to find the 'Lollipop Person Of The Year' by inviting public nominations to "celebrate the incredible dedication, kindness, and community spirit of these unsung champions."
The search will be divided into four regions – Munster, Leinster, Connacht, and Ulster – with a finalist from each region before one national winner is crowned the’ Tonstix Lollipop Person Of The Year 2025’ at the end of June, just before school is out for summer!
"We invite families, schools, and local businesses to get involved by sharing photos, videos, and stories about their favourite lollipop person. Pharmacies stocking Tonstix Travel Pops can support the campaign by printing off colouring sheets that the Tonstix team can email to them and share those with children and families in their stores, said Tonstix co-founder Sinead."
Customers can nominate their favourite lollipop person by posting a photo or video on social media using #TonstixlollipopPerson #TLP25 and tagging @Tonstixpops or drop into their local pharmacy and pick up a colouring sheet with QR code to nominate.
