Urban orienteering event to take place in Navan
On Sunday the 8th December, and for the first time ever, Fingal Orienteering Club brings the sport of orienteering to the streets of Navan town.
The planner of the event, Navan man Tommy Burke, has produced a superb international standard orienteering map of the town.
Orienteering is a great family sport, and this event poses a wonderful opportunity to come and try it out.
Full instruction will be given to newcomers. Although the object of the sport is to complete a course in as fast a time as possible, great fun is guaranteed, no matter what your level of fitness or age, from the toddler in a buggy to the over eighty, orienteering can be for you. Come along, walk, jog, or run.
The start, finish and parking will be at Meath Enterprise Centre (C15 NW29), just off the Navan to Trim Road (R161).
Start times begin at 10.45 and will continue until 12.30. Courses close at 2pm. Full details can be found at: https://www.orienteering.ie/fixtures/navan-central-urban/
On-line entry is now open.
