Dublin City Marathon 2023 saw 82 participants from Dunboyne Athletics Club cross the finish line.
There were many first time marathoners with a great contingent from the Fit4Life distance running group (Dunboyne). Dunboyne's blue and white club colours could be spotted in the crowds of runners.
Peter Roche was the first home for Dunboyne in a very impressive 2:43:07 with Barry Comer close behind in 2:43:44. Gerry O'Reilly was next to finish in 2:55:36, followed by Jane Bandila, first Dunboyne woman finisher in 2:58:49.
Jane who ran a very comfortable sub 3 marathon, was one of the fastest female marathoners in Dunboyne club ever.
Dunboyne AC had Michael Cornyn running his first marathon since his debut in 1983 and Seamus Dunne who has run every Dublin Marathon since 1980.
Sharing to their Facebook Dunboyne AC said: "Congratulations to all our runners who took on the Irish Life Dublin Marathon. Fantastic to see so many out there wearing our club colours.
"The weather was challenging at times with some very heavy downpours, but everybody dug deep and battled through it, helped by the support all along the course."
They also shared that there were plenty of personal bests throughout the group: "Everybody can be proud of their achievement."
