Man (60s) dies in single-vehicle crash in Co Roscommon

A man, aged in his 60s, has died in a single-vehicle crash in Co Roscommon which occurred early on Sunday morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred at Carrigans Park, Donamon, which is believed to have occurred early this morning.

The male driver and sole occupant of the car, aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been moved to the mortuary at Galway University Hospital. A postmortem examination will take place in due course, gardaí said.

The coroner has been notified.

The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area of Carrigans Park, Donamon, Co Roscommon, this morning between 5am and 9am - are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
