LOI ambitions for Meath FC
New club aiming to bring professional football to Royal county
Meath FC officially announced its formation as a new association football club on Tuesday. The club will wear royal amethyst (purple), white and black colours and will have their home venue at the Meath District League Grounds (MDL) in Navan.
The club have not yet applied for the third tier of the League of Ireland (LOI) but will instead hope to compete in the League of Ireland Academy Divisions pending approval from the FAI. The club hope to have a senior competitive side in the early to mid 2030s.
The MDL facility that the club will be operating from features full-size grass pitches, a full sized astro surface with floodlights for winter training, gym access, meeting room, and safeguarding-compliant changing areas.
At the moment, the management and club structure includes Mark Jacob (chairman), Dave Quinn (secretary) and Ger Lynch (PRO & communications). The club is actively seeking a Child Welfare Liaison Officer, board members (experience in governance and or finance), Academy Director (minimum UEFA A level) and coaching roles (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Goalkeeping Coach, Sports Analyst).
