Ashbourne Community Recycling Day on Saturday
A major recycling day will take place in Ashbourne Retail Park on Saturday (11th April ) where tonnes of waste are expected to be recycled.
The Ashbourne Community Recycling Day is organised by Cllr Joe Bonner who has been running these recycling days for the past 21 years.
“These not for profit events help keep our countryside litter free and reduce unauthorised and illegal dumping, while continuing to promote a recycling policy," said Cllr Bonner.
"Our recycling days provide an avenue for the community to conveniently dispose of bulky house waste at a fraction of the cost of doing so commercially. To date we have recycled thousands of tonnes of bulky household waste.”
"A big thank you to the volunteers, all who continue to help me with these events and to you the public for supporting us," he said.
The Community Recycling Day takes place between 8am and 4pm on Saturday in the Ashbourne Retail Park
Items accepted include bulky household waste, including furniture, mattresses, and other large household items.
Modest charges apply to bulky waste.
Users of this section will also receive free compost (on a first come, first served basis) and can avail of on-site document shredding.
They will accept all types of electrical and electronic waste – fridges, freezers, computers, TVs, batteries (big and small), used vapes, and more.
This is a great opportunity to clear out your garage, attic or office in a compliant way and help keep the countryside clean and promote a healthy environment.
