Wilkinstown man to represent Meath at Mr Personality Festival

A Wilkinstown man is set to represent the county at this year’s Mr Personality Festival, which takes place in Kilkenny next month.

Charlie Reilly (23), an active member of Wilkinstown Macra, will compete in the 19th annual event, organised by Kilkenny County Macra, on April 10th and 11th at Langton’s Hotel.

The festival, sponsored by Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services, will be held in the Kilkenny venue for the first time and promises a packed schedule of events for contestants and attendees alike.

Mr Reilly, who has a strong interest in agriculture, said he is looking forward to representing Meath at the national event.

A keen participant in Macra activities, he lists the Louth Macra Mart as one of his most memorable experiences to date.

Organisers of the event describe Charlie as a “man of many talents” and the Wilkinstown native said he enjoys the social side of Macra and believes his outgoing personality will stand to him over the course of the weekend.

“I can have the craic and I’m able to talk about pretty much anything,” he said, adding that he also plans to showcase his musical side by playing a tune on the fiddle during the festival.

The weekend will begin on Friday afternoon, with contestants arriving in Kilkenny before taking part in a series of group activities.

One of the highlights of the festival will be the on-stage interviews, which take place on Friday evening and will be hosted by 2FM’s Aindriú de Paor. The night will also feature live music from The Deere Johns, followed by a DJ.

Judging this year’s competition will be Rose of Tralee 2025 Katelyn Cummins, influencer James Kavanagh and UCD assistant professor Brian Leonard.

On Saturday, contestants will take part in private interviews with the judging panel before facing a number of challenges designed to test their skills and personality.

The event will conclude with a banquet on Saturday evening, where the winner of Mr Personality 2026 will be announced.

Organisers have said the weekend will be “action-packed” with a range of activities and entertainment planned throughout.

Tickets for the festival are currently on sale, with further details available on the Mr Personality Festival social media pages.
