TG4’s Rásaí Beo returns with live coverage from Fairyhouse Easter Festival
TG4’s Rásaí Beo returns to screens this Saturday (4th April) with live coverage from the Fairyhouse Easter Festival, marking the start of another exciting season of top-class horse racing.
The opening weekend will also feature a comprehensive preview of the Irish Grand National, which takes place on Easter Monday at Fairyhouse. Last year’s renewal saw the Rebecca Curtis-trained Haiti Couleurs claim the prestigious prize, and anticipation is already building for this year’s contest.
The Rásaí Beo team will continue its extensive nationwide coverage throughout the summer months. In mid-May, TG4 will broadcast Royal Ascot Trials Day from Naas Racecourse for the second consecutive year. With over €300,000 in prize money on offer, the meeting is a key fixture in the flat racing calendar and an important stepping stone towards Royal Ascot.
Just over a week later, coverage returns to the scenic Ballinrobe Racecourse for the fifth successive year where the highlight will be the Mayo National. The 2025 edition was won by Danny Gilligan aboard Western Fold, trained by Gordon Elliott.
Following a successful first visit in 2025, Rásaí Beo will once again travel to Cork Racecourse in Mallow, where the Munster Oaks headlines the card. That landmark broadcast brought the number of Irish racecourses featured by the series to 23 of the island’s 26 tracks, underlining TG4’s commitment to showcasing racing across the country.
Summer coverage continues with the ever-popular Galway Races, as TG4 returns to Ballybrit for live broadcasts on both Friday and Saturday of the festival.
In September, Rásaí Beo will once again visit Listowel for the Harvest Festival, continuing a long-standing association that now spans 22 consecutive years. The 168th edition of the Kerry festival promises another thrilling week of racing, with last year’s Kerry National won by Spanish Harlem, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Danny Mullins.
Coverage will once again be led by Seán Bán Breathnach, joined by Mánus Ó Conghaile, Sarah Lynam, Tomás Báicéir and Évelyn Ní Ghriallais. Reporting from the parade ring, Daragh Ó Conchúir will bring viewers closer to the action with interviews and insights from jockeys, trainers, owners and racegoers. Meghann Scully will also join the team for festival coverage in Galway and Listowel.
With a packed calendar of racing from some of Ireland’s most iconic venues, Rásaí Beo promises another season of thrilling action, expert analysis, and unrivalled access to the heart of Irish racing.
