Healthy Meath Microfund Grant Scheme applications open
Applications have opened for the Healthy Meath Microfund Grant Scheme which supports community and voluntary groups wishing to undertake specific health and wellbeing' projects.
The grant scheme is overseen by the Meath Local Community and Development Committee and is supported by the Department of Health's Healthy Ireland Fund. It was put in place is to improve population Health and Wellbeing Meath by supporting and encouraging targeted actions. These focus on promoting and improving healthy lifestyle behaviours to reduce the risk of chronic disease improve positive mental health in the community.
Any community and voluntary group promoting health and wellbeing in County Meath may apply but public sector organisations are not eligible to make an application. Groups are encouraged to register with the Meath Public Participation Network (PPN).
The Healthy Meath Micro Fund comprises of 2 different support funds with grants ranging from €500 to €2,000. The first is for promoting a healthy lifestyle under six pillars including community health checks, being ‘SunSmart’, smoking and vaping, alcohol, physical activity and healthy eating. The second is for promoting and improving positive mental health.
The fund is a competitive grant scheme and not all eligible applications will receive funding.
Applications opened earlier this months and are accepted via online portal, linked here, with applications closing on 19th April at 5pm.
