Garda probe after body of man found at Cavan property
Man, aged in his 40's, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí have launched an investigation and are investigating “all the circumstances” surrounding the discovery of a man's body at a house in Cavan town in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 3am on Wednesday, March 11, when the body of a man, aged in his 40s, was found inside a residential property on Connolly Street.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area has since been sealed off, with a forensic examination set to be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.
The Office of the State Pathologist and the local Coroner have also been notified, and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the cause of death.
Gardaí say the findings of the post-mortem will determine the direction of the current investigation.
“Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.
