Stars and superheroes to join the fun at Kilcock St Patrick's Day parade

Kilcock St Patrick’s Day Parade committee, under the chairmanship of Peter Divilly, has announced details of this year’s parade which will take at 1.30pm on Tuesday, 17th March. The theme for participants in this year’s parade is 'On our Screens – from Soaps to Superheroes'.

Main sponsor this year is Quantum Group, a local company led by father and son Miceál Sammon and Miceál Anthony Sammon, a large-scale builder in both commercial and residential sectors.

The parade will start at St Joseph’s Graveyard, Boycetown at 1.30 pm and the route will continue into Church St, through Main St and on to the viewing stand in The Square.

Seamus and Jane Staunton who recently retired after 36 years of running L’Horizon have been invited to be special guests of honor in recognition of their goodwill to the parade committees throughout the years.

This year St Patrick’s Day Parade will cost in the region of €8,000 to €10,000 to stage in a safe way and the committee would like to recognise the contributions of all the businesses, contributors and volunteers who make the parade a reality every year. The committee would also like to acknowledge the contribution and cooperation of Kildare County Council each year.

Along with the viewing stand located in the Square as usual, there will be a wheelchair area located at the front of the viewing stand, and there will also be a quiet area for those who wish to avail of it at the front of Scoil Dara, where parade participants are asked to pause the noise.

There will be many trophies and prizes for the float entries in the parade which will be judged by a panel of three judges and the results and prize giving will take place on Saturday 28th March 2026 in Kilcock GAA Branganstown at 9pm.
