Trim residents urged to conserve water

Ahead of essential works being carried out on Wednesday, 11th February, as part of the €20 million upgrade of Trim Water Treatment Plant, Uisce Eireann is asking residents to conserve water where possible.

While Uisce Eireann says supply to customers in Trim and the surrounding areas will not be directly impacted, it is appealing to customers to be mindful of their water usage on that date and to conserve supplies where possible to help maintain adequate levels in the Bray Hill Reservoir.

Uisce Éireann’s Enda Cully thanked customers for their cooperation in advance of the works.

“As part of the upgrade works taking place at Trim Water Treatment Plant, a water main in the plant must be temporarily diverted on Wednesday next.

"While there will be no loss of supply and customers will not be affected, we would appeal to customers to be cognisant of their water usage on the day and to conserve water where possible.

“Uisce Éireann appreciates everyone’s cooperation in this regard and apologises for any inconvenience caused,” Enda concluded.

The construction works at the plant are progressing well and, when completed in mid-2027, will benefit over 12,000 customers in the local community.

The project will address operational issues at the plant and water quality risks, as well as safeguarding water supply for homes and businesses in Trim who have frequently experienced disruption from outages.
