Say cheese... Trim photographer wins title of Irish Professional Photographer of the Year

A Trim-based professional photographer – Grazina Mahon - has scooped some of the top awards including Photographer of the Year 2025-2026 at the Professional Photographers’ Awards night.

The Irish Professional Photographers’ and Videographers’ Association gathered for its awards event at The Address Hotel City West in Dublin. The association is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing education and support, to promoting excellence in photography and videography and to assisting the general public in finding the ideal photographer or videographer to suit the occasion. Grazina’s studio is located at Mornington House, French’s Lane, Trim around the corner from Franzinis Restaurant and close to Trim Castle.

Besides becoming the association’s top photographer of the year, Grazina was awarded Irish Professional Newborn Contemporary Photographer of the Year 2026, Irish Professional Family Photographer of the Year 2026, second place in Irish Professional Portrait Photographer of the Year and second place in Irish Professional Newborn Traditional Photographer of the Year.

The Lithuanian-born photographer is primarily a newborn, baby and family photographer based in Trim where she has operated a studio for over 12 years under the name Grazina Photography.

Her work is praised for being “relaxed, natural and full of love”, often capturing candid moments rather than heavily-posed shots.

Grazina holds a master’s degree in linguistics but transitioned to professional photography after moving to Ireland over 19 years ago. She is highly regarded in the profession and beyond for her “warm and cozy” studio environment and her ability to put both babies and parents at ease during the sessions.
