Two men to appear in court in connection with major cannabis, cocaine and cash seizure in Navan

The two men who were arrested in connection with the seizure of cannabis worth €120,000, cocaine worth €2,000 and €13,000 in cash in Navan on Monday have since been charged.

The men (aged in their 40s) are expected to appear before Trim District Court tomorrow morning, Thursday 22nd January 2026, at approximately 10.00am.

A female (aged in her 30’s) arrested in the incident has been released without charge pending a file to the DPP.

The arrests came following ongoing investigations targeting organised crime, personnel from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) conducted an operation in County Meath on Monday, 19th January 2026.

During the course of this operation, Gardaí intercepted two vehicles in the Navan area and seized cannabis worth €120,000, cocaine worth €2,000 and €13,000 in cash.

The occupants of the vehicles—two males in their 40s and a female in her 30s—were detained and subsequently arrested on suspicion of offences contrary to Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006. They were detained under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at a Garda Station in the county.

In follow up searches of nearby lands, assisted by the Garda Dog Unit, Gardaí recovered further quantities of cannabis valued at approximately €60,000 and €140,000.

All drugs seized were sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
